Accessibility

Our accessibility policy

Ensuring a safe and pleasurable day out for visitors with additional needs.

At Adventure Coast Southport, we welcome guests with additional needs.

Your safety is our priority. This means that we have measures in place to ensure that any additional needs are provided for.

It also means that we reserve the right to decide that a ride isn’t suitable for you – but only ever on the grounds of health and safety, never because of who you are.

All riders must be able to hold themselves upright and hold on to the ride. Other than that, the majority of rides are suitable for all. If you have a health condition, it’s up to you to check that a ride is suitable before getting on.

How To Apply For An Essential Companion Ticket

We are proud to partner with Nimbus Disability who operate the Access Card scheme and process our Essential Companion applications.

If you already have a Nimbus Access Card here’s what you need to do:

1. Book your tickets online via our website in the usual way

2. Email access@adventurecoastsouthport.co.uk with your Adventure Coast Booking number and your Nimbus Access Card details. We’ll need your first name, last name and Access card registration number.

3. We will then access your booking, verify that your Access card carries the +1 symbol and if it does we will add a complimentary Essential Companion ticket to your booking and reissue an updated booking to you via email.

4. On the day of your visit please bring along your booking email and Access Card and our team will get you checked in and ready for a fun filled day.

PLEASE NOTE: We require 48hrs to add an Essential Companion ticket to your booking.

If you don’t have a Nimbus Access card here’s what you need to do:

1. You can apply online to Nimbus Disability for a FREE Digital Access Pass to attend Adventure Coast with an Essential Companion.  Or you can apply for a chargeable Nimbus Access Card which can be used at many venues throughout the UK.  All applications must be submitted through Nimbus Disability and must be done at least seven working days before your first visit.  Click this link to apply online

2. Once you’ve received your Nimbus Digital Access Pass (or Nimbus Access Card if you chose that option), book your tickets via our website in the usual way

3. We will then access your booking, verify that your Access Pass carries the +1 symbol and if it does we will add a complimentary Essential Companion ticket to your booking and reissue an updated booking to you via email.

4. On the day of your visit please bring along your booking email and Nimbus Digital Access Pass details (or Nimbus Access Card if you chose that option) and our team will get you checked in and ready for a fun filled day.

Essential Companion tickets for guests requiring additional support

If you need additional care and support on the day, an Essential Companion ticket will give your +1 access free of charge. This replaces our previous “Disabled Guest with Carer” ticket.

Before, we asked you to bring supporting documentation on the day. Now, we ask only that you register with Nimbus Disability’s Access Card scheme and bring your Nimbus Digital Access Pass (or Nimbus Access Card if you chose that option) along with your own Adventure Coast booking confirmation email.

This scheme is used by a wide range of attractions around the UK. It’s a quick, convenient way of ensuring you get the support you need to make the most of your trip to Adventure Coast Southport.

Please ensure that you apply online to Nimbus Disability at least seven working days before you visit. Unfortunately, they can’t process same-day applications so please plan ahead to avoid disappointment.

The complimentary Essential Companion ticket will be the same ticket type as the Guest who requires the companion i.e. if the guest has purchased an Adventurer Pass, then the essential companion will receive the same.

Our statement on health and safety

Adventure Coast Southport is a welcoming environment for people with additional needs. We do everything we can to ensure a safe and pleasurable day out for all.

Some of our rides and attractions can be physically demanding. As long as you can stay upright and hold on to the ride, you’re welcome to use it. However, if you have a health condition you need to be sure the ride is suitable before you get on.

If a member of our team feels that there’s a danger to an individual or individuals, we reserve the right to refuse admission. These decisions will only ever be made on the grounds of Health and Safety – never because of discrimination.

Your safety is our priority. We wish you a safe and fun-packed visit!

Disabled parking

If you’re looking for disabled parking in Southport, we have a limited number of designated spaces.

There are two car parks on site: one on “Esplanade” and one on “Marine Drive”. If you’re using sat nav, please use the road names rather than Adventure Coast’s postcode.

FAQs

If you’re a paying guest with a disability, you may be eligible for an Essential Companion ticket. This gives an additional guest access to the park, free of charge. To qualify, the companion must be there to provide disability-related support that is significant, substantial and beyond what could reasonably be expected of any friends or family in your group.

Before getting one, you need to successfully apply through our partner Nimbus. Then, you can book your Adventure Coast Southport tickets online and email access@adventurecoastsouthport.co.uk with your booking reference, full name and Nimbus ID number. If you’ve been awarded a +1 on your Nimbus account, our team will add a complimentary Essential Companion ticket to your booking. If not, you’ll need to pay admission for the whole group.

A guest with an Essential Companion ticket accepts responsibility for supporting you in the park and providing any additional support in the event of an emergency. Our staff can provide assistance only in line with our roles and reasonable adjustments.

Please apply online at least seven working days before your visit.

If you’re applying just to visit Adventure Coast, you can do so free of charge. However, you also have the option of upgrading to a full Access Card for £15. These cards are valid for three years and accepted at thousands of locations, including many other amusement parks and leisure attractions, across the UK and beyond.

If you can’t use the online form, ring Nimbus on 0330 808 5108 to register.

Where possible, please apply at least seven working days before your visit. Nimbus will aim to process your application within this time-frame, although it can take longer during peak times. You have the option of supplying Nimbus with your planned visit date, which it will take into account when processing your application.

If you already have a full and valid Access Card that’s been awarded with an Essential Companion “+” icon, you can book your tickets online and then email access@adventurecoastsouthport.co.uk with your booking reference, full name and Nimbus ID number. Our team will then add a complimentary Essential Companion ticket to your booking.

If you haven’t been awarded a “+” icon on your Nimbus account, you will need to pay admission for everyone in your group.

Please ensure you bring your Access Card, Nimbus account details and tickets with you on the day.

Unfortunately, you’re unable to apply with less than 24 hours’ notice. This is to ensure that Nimbus has enough time to process all your supporting documents. While you can make an application less than seven working days before your visit, it gives Nimbus less time to review your application.

If you haven’t applied online through Nimbus, or have applied but not had a reply, you won’t be able to collect a free Essential Companion ticket. In this situation, each member of your group will have to buy a valid ticket to enter the Park.

Please note that our team at Pleasureland can accept only a valid Access Card or Pleasureland Access Registration. It’s not within our scope to review or approve any supporting documentation. Any such requests will be declined and all guests required to pay for admission.
